We prioritise sourcing materials from regenerative, organic, renewable and recycled sources, and are committed to fostering biodiversity through our material choices.

We will not knowingly source fibres from ancient and endangered forests, and are working on tracing our supply chain with a goal to achieving full visibility of our materials and components back to source. Where available and practical to the garment, we will also source dead stock fabrics.

We understand that every fibre has its pros and cons in terms of impact on the environment and that there is no fix-all solution. However, we ensure that we assess the environmental impact of all fabrics we use and the sustainability of that material’s production is paramount, in addition to consideration of the lifecycle of those materials.

Our most used fibres in our Resort 20 collection include Cotton, Linen, Recycled and Regenerated Nylon and Viscose.

SUMMER POPLIN

Our Summer Poplin is a luxurious cotton fabric made from certified organic cotton, a natural fibre that is strong and breathable. Certified organic farming eliminates the use of toxic and persistent chemicals, increases soil health and improves biodiversity. Organic farming uses significantly less water, as the majority of crops are rain-fed which increases water conservation.

Our Summer Poplin is processed in a Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified supply chain. The GOTS certification gives us assurance that high social and environmental standards are met along the entire fabric processing supply chain, including a ban on toxic and harmful chemicals, strong social compliance management systems and strict wastewater treatment practices. Our summer poplin also meets Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex certification which ensures there are no harmful chemical substances in the finished fabric before it comes to our workroom.

LIVED-IN POPLIN

Our Lived-In Poplin is a soft and comfortable cotton fabric made from 100% certified organic cotton, a natural fibre that is strong and breathable. Certified organic farming eliminates the use of toxic and persistent chemicals, increases soil health and improves biodiversity. Organic farming uses significantly less water, as the majority of crops are rain-fed which increases water conservation.

CRISP POPLIN

Our Crisp Poplin is Italian in origin and made from 100% cotton, a durable and breathable fibre. Italy has strict regulations for textile processing including monitoring water usage and wastewater treatment. Our Italian mill partner follows the 4Sustainability Protocol, which is a chemical management system aimed at the phasing-out of toxic and harmful substances for human health and the environment in accordance with the ZDHC Protocol.

COTTON SILK

Our Cotton Silk is a blend of 70% certified organic cotton and 30% silk resulting in a breathable and luxurious fabric. Certified organic cotton eliminates the use of toxic and persistent chemicals, increases soil health and improves biodiversity. Organic farming uses significantly less water, as the majority of crops are rain-fed which increases water conservation.

BRODERIE ANGLAISE

Our Broderie Anglaise is made from 100% Organic Content Standard (OCS) certified organic cotton. The OCS Standard provides chain-of-custody verification that the fibre used originated on a farm certified to a recognised organic standard. Certified organic farming eliminates the use of toxic and persistent chemicals, increases soil health and improves biodiversity. Organic farming uses significantly less water, as the majority of crops are rain-fed which increases water conservation.

The lining used in our Broderie Anglaise pieces is certified 100% organic cotton, making them highly breathable and cool to wear. Organic cotton has significant benefits for the environment, farmers and the community including the elimination of toxic and persistent chemicals, increased soil health and improved biodiversity and water conservation. The Broderie Anglaise lining is processed in a GOTS certified supply chain, which gives us assurance that high social and environmental standards are met along the entire fabric processing supply chain, including a ban on toxic and harmful chemicals, strong social compliance management systems and strict wastewater treatment practices. Our lining also meets Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex Certification, which ensures there are no harmful chemical substances in the finished fabric before it comes to our workroom.

COOL WOOL SUITING

Our cool wool suiting is made from a blend of 66% wool, 30% EcoNylon and 4% Lycra. Wool is a 100% natural and renewable fibre that is durable, long-lasting, breathable and thermo-regulating, making it an excellent choice for suiting. EcoNylon is a nylon fibre that has enhanced biodegradability, meaning it biodegrades in around 5 years when disposed of in landfills, compared to more than 50 years for synthetics in general. Our cool wool suiting meets the Standard 100 by Oeko Tex Certification which ensures there are no harmful chemical substances in the finished fabric before it comes to our workroom.

SILK

Our Silk fabric is made from 100% silk, a lustrous and luxurious fibre with high tensile strength. Silk is a natural and renewable fibre that forms on a cocoon as a natural part of the life cycle of the Bombyx Mori silkworm. Silkworms feed on Mulberry leaves and, in general, require no chemical pesticide or fertilisers to manage. Our silk is manufactured in China where the majority of the world’s silk trade occurs. Silk cultivation has been occurring for thousands of years in China and can be an important vehicle for achieving the Sustainable Development goals with more than 60 per cent of sericulture income flowing back to farmers. We are currently developing a new silk supply chain that is based on a regenerative agriculture system and will be certified organic. The fabric will be Bluesign approved, which has strict controls on chemicals management, water use and emissions.

REGENERATED NYLON

Nylon is a strong, resilient fibre, quick drying with excellent performance characteristics, making it ideal for our swimwear. Our plain swimwear is produced with Repreve recycled nylon yarn made from waste that is generated in the fibre manufacturing process. Our printed swimwear is made with Econyl, a 100% Nylon yarn made from waste, including waste from fishing nets from the ocean, fabric scraps and industrial plastic; our printed swimwear is lined in the same Repreve recycled nylon that we use in our plain swimwear. Using a recycled nylon replaces the need for primary extraction of crude oil and waste materials are used to manufacture it, thereby reducing landfill disposal and creating a circular system.
